About New College LifeTrack

The journey begins here

The New College LifeTrack Program (NCLT) was established in 1973 under the name External Degree (EXD) Program as an interdisciplinary undergraduate program through which adults could earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Alabama. An interdisciplinary degree is one that allows students to blend several areas of educational interests into meaningful curriculum to suit individual needs with the help of an academic advisor.

LifeTrack provides the opportunity to pursue your educational dreams around your lifestyle. Courses are completed at a distance in many different formats with the help of a professional staff and faculty.

About New College

New College is the on-campus counterpart to LifeTrack and has been helping students pursue their passions since 1971. UA’s original interdisciplinary liberal arts program is within the Barefield College of Arts & Sciences and offers innovative, individualized programs of study.
