Your Application
University of Alabama Online students follow the same steps for admission as on-campus students.
- Visit the University of Alabama application portal.
- Choose “New Account” if you have never applied to UA before and create your account, or choose “Login Here” and sign in if you have applied to UA previously.
- Select your application type, which will most likely be “Transfer” or “Specials” (for readmission).
- Continue filling out the rest of the application.
Sending Transcripts
You can send electronic transcripts through Parchment Transcript Services to “The University of Alabama – College Transcripts.” If your previous institution does not use Parchment, please send your electronic transcripts to transfercredit@ua.edu
First Time Attending College?
- If it is your first time attending college, don’t worry! You will need a few items, such as your high school transcript and a lapse letter.
- You can send your high school transcript to hstranscript@ua.edu.
- Since it’s been a while since you attended high school, The University of Alabama requires a brief statement of activity, also called a lapse letter. This isn’t a formal document — just one or two short paragraphs explaining what you’ve been doing since high school. You can mention jobs you’ve had, responsibilities you’ve taken on or experiences that have prepared you for college. This helps the Office of Undergraduate Admissions better understand your path and readiness for your program
